Anyway, as synthetic thatch roof products are man-made, the quality is not always stable. It depends on the correct use of the materials, the correct manufacturing process, also the attitude towards the quality. Let us do some analysis today for the material to see how to choose the correct polymer material for the synthetic thatch roofing. As nylon thatch roofing is more stable for the quality, so, we only discuss the PE thatch roof today.

PE thatch roof also do not have problem of color fade normally. So we only discuss the decay issue.


Some reasons for the decay issue of the artificial thatch roof in the market

China exported lots of PE thatch roof to various countries before. Many peering companies have quality issues for the decay, especially for the tropical countries near the Equator, such as Philippines, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Thailand, etc. There areas have strong sunshine, and the temperature is high. The decay happened because of below facts:

1. Most peering companies use 2426 grade LDPE. This grade is not suitable for the outdoors.

2. Many of China's material factories start their operation from small workshops. The technicians then are not experts on this field, and did not have so much knowledge on modified plastics (polymer). The technicians have workers to work for them. After the workers have some money, they will leave the workshop and run their own business. But their knowledge is from their previous technician teachers. So, their formula is nearly the same as their teachers without any change. That means, a mistake will repeatedly happen. Most of the material suppliers are from the 1st generation of the material factory. Thus, the master used 2426 at the beginning, and their students follow.

3. The large use of recycled materials. To reduce the cost and increase the price attractiveness for overseas buyers, many peering competitors used recycled materials for production of materials. The composition of secondary material is very complex and difficult to control, which leads to unstable quality. As a result, many products will decay within only a few months.

4. No equipment for UV proof test. The lack of the test equipment will make it difficult to find the incompetent materials.


Some of our measure to make sure the quality of the synthetic thatch roof

To avoid these issues, Beatles Co., has taken some measures below to ensure the high-quality standard of our thatch products:

1. Only use new materials. We do not use secondary PE materials.

2. Promote nylon materials. Nylon material is famous for its stable quality since its birth. In recent years, we have not found any problems in nylon materials, no matter in engineering application for projects or during our material testing. The material has good toughness. After several years, it's almost the same as the new one. The disadvantage of nylon thatch is that it will fade a little after long time use. During production, we can make the color darker, so that even if it fades, it will make the material look better.

3. For PE, we began to use 9001 (HDPE) for production.

4. Our company purchased UV accelerated aging test equipment. Nylon thatch UV proof test started two months ago. With this machine, we could compare the materials for their UV proof performance. In addition to the materials used in production, some secondary materials in the market are also put in the machine for comparison. The secondary 2426 grade PE material decays so easily within one month. Other materials have not any issues up to now.
