The place to enjoy Zen Tea simply

Bamboo Hidden Garden is a park in Luhu Red Rock Park, covering an area of about 10000 square meters. It is located in the narrow valley between two residential blocks in the southwest corner of Red Rock Park. Due to the quiet nature of the valley, it was determined to be a quiet place at the beginning of Red Rock Park planning. When designing the Hidden Garden, Yilan design team relied on the original terrain (high in the South and low in the North) to design the landscape, try their best to integrate the seclusion culture into the dense bamboo forest.

A winding stream flows through Hidden Garden from west to East. The bamboo forest at the north entrance leads people into this secret place. The tall bamboo filters the noise of the world. Walking in the shade, the spring is tinkling, which makes people gradually empty their mood and forget their troubles. Along the stream, there are three scattered bamboo houses hidden by the mountain stream. In the deep green forest, there is a pool of water. The bamboo house beside the pool has an ingenious design of the turnstile to maximize the beauty of the bamboo and stream into the pavilion. Not far away, the terraced landscape is like a picture unfolding slowly, reflecting the beauty of reclusive farming and reading. From the south entrance to the open and quiet water, the Jiuqu bridge is exquisite over the water. People can take a walk in the bamboo forest, play chess, having tea in the charming bamboo house, and have yoga and meditation in the quiet atmosphere.

All parts of the park embody the design concept and technique of integration and symbiosis with nature. Seven points are natural and three points are artificial (Chen Yuezhong). Hidden behind the tall bamboo forest, the waterscape, terrain and buildings create a natural and simple landscape environment full of humanistic mood, showing the beauty of the hidden bamboo garden, which is introverted and elegant, and abandons the secular. It integrates the culture of Zen Juyi and modern aesthetic taste. The bamboo hidden garden is a place for reading and tea tasting, for literati to gather, and a quiet seclusion in the noise.

All parts of the park embody the design concept and technique of integration and symbiosis with nature. Hidden behind the tall bamboo forest, the waterscape, terrain and buildings create a natural and simple landscape environment full of humanistic mood, showing the beauty of the Hidden Bamboo Garden, which is introverted but elegant. It integrates the culture of simple of Zen and modern aesthetic taste. The Bamboo Hidden Garden is a place for reading and tea tasting, for literati to gather, and a quiet seclusion in the noise.

The Bamboo Hidden Valley comes from the combination of bamboo and seclusion culture, which constitutes the main keynote of the Bamboo Hidden Garden. It is a place where you can relax your mind and enjoy the seclusion interest in the environment of breeze and green bamboo forest. On the basis of respecting the original terrain, the design combines site planning with ecological landscape. The design team hopes that this place can awaken and enhance personal feelings, promote introspection and meditation. Only through personal experience can we find unique surprises and feelings.

The design team try their best to keep the beauty of bamboo as a material itself to the full extent. The design team invited craftsmen who can make bamboo art buildings in the local area. Using the resources of rural manual work, the design team explored the contemporary construction methods based on the traditional bamboo technology, and met the cultural needs of people's inner desire to return to nature through the bamboo architecture.

Tea Court Space Design

The quiet bamboo forest and beautiful cascading waterfalls can't help providing tourists with exquisite places to stay. After repeated deliberation, the design team chose three locations to build the tea pavilions. The bamboo tea pavilion is half hidden by the mountain stream and deep in the emerald green. The largest one is opposite to the cascade waterfall, facing the water side, as the best place to watch the waterscape; one is on the top of the cascade waterfall, and the below tea pavilion is the landscape to each other; there is still a pavilion beside the garden road, it is a passing by pavilion, which harmoniously forms a sense of encirclement together with the big tea pavilion. So three tea pavilions, one is near the water, one is in half of the mountain and one is a passing by pavilion, all have their own characteristics.

In the design of the tea pavilion, it was chosen to open windows in the east to form a frame view, where we can see the bamboo forest and the passing pavilion. Compared with the architectural form, the design team pays more attention to the atmosphere of space. On the north side, the partition is set as a turnstile, could be opened to see the stream between the bamboo forests behind. When it is closed, it will become a world of its own, bringing a dynamic spatial feeling.

In terms of material selection, the tea pavilion adopts the combination of metal and bamboo. The metal is the skeleton, the bamboo rod is the skin, and the metal is painted in white, which is in sharp contrast with the yellow of the bamboo rod. Stainless steel bamboo poles could be a perfect choice for this kind of design. The transparent architectural form makes the buildings like the sages in the bamboo forest, with the faint fragrance of flowers, accompanied by chirping birds, bathing in the warm soup spring, so that people can feel their low-key and introverted leisurely temperament.

This project shows us the beauty of the bamboo designs. For some places do not have bamboo resources, artificial bamboo such as metal bamboo or synthetic ABS bamboo are good alternatives to natural bamboo. They are highly simulated to natural bamboo, their length could be customized, their colors could be customized too, and they are not limited for supply.

Artificial bamboo has so many diameters for choices. And plastic woven bamboo mat could be used for interior decoration of these pavilions, could keep the authentic feeling of natural still.

The installation of artificial bamboo poles and bamboo mat are very easy, nearly the same as natural bamboo.
