I) Your existing bottom roof structure

If your roof already has plywood and waterproof membrane, or if you want to use these materials for your bottom roof, then all types of thatch roof tiles are suitable for your roof structure. If your roof does not have plywood and waterproof membrane and only has wooden battens, the only type you could use is synthetic palm thatch roofing.

II) Your local weather

If you are located in temperate countries or even colder weather countries with few sunshine, all types of thatch products are suitable for you, include the PP thatch roof. But as PP thatch roof will easily decay in tropical countries with strong sunshine and hot weather, so PP thatch roofing is not suitable for tropical countries. PE thatch, nylon thatch and PVC thatch roof are not problem for tropical countries.
